The Phoenix Players
Introducing
"THE PHOENIX PLAYERS"
Emma joined Phoenix fresh off the run of “Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” to play in “The Good Doctor.” Emma was raised in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada (right outside of Vancouver), she developed a love for acting at a very early age. Emma moved to New York City right out of high school to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Since graduating, Emma has appeared in theatre and film in both New York and Toronto. Last year, Emma was a choral singer in the Victoria Street Fashion Show 2009 on CBS. Love to Phil and Family.
April performed with E Phoenix in 2010 in “The Good Doctor” and in 2009 as EVELYN MUNN in “The Children’s Hour.” April also performed the leads role in “Suessical” and performed in “Putting on the Kids, both 1 and 2, which were musical revues featuring students in the St. Joan of Arc School community in Jackson Heights. Aprils ten years of dance experience in ballet, tap and jazz served her well in these revues. April is currently studying drama at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria.
This is Emily’s seventh production with The Phoenix Players, having played LILY MORTAR in “The Children’s Hour,” MARY PHILLIPS in “Getting and Spending,” COSTANZA in “Enchanted April,” LEONTINE in “Triumph of Love,” CATHERINE in “Arms and the Man” and ELEANOR in “The Lion In Winter.” Emily has sung a few operatic roles, been in a few classic plays (her favorites being in classical Latin and ancient Greek) and made a spectacle of herself a few times on “Saturday Night Live!”
Daniel is so pleased to be joining the E Phoenix Ideallis Players for this production of The Lion In Winter. A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy of New York, Daniel spent his summer performing as a Mud Beggar at the well-respected Sterling Renaissance Festival in upstate New York, and is glad to be going back in time to England - albeit, this time as a prince. Thanks go to those who merit thanks - you have the guns!
Ethan is thrilled to be back on stage after a long hiatus of diaper changing and child rearing. His not-so recent stage credits include “Richard III” “Andy & Edie and “Isle of Joy.” When he is not in the background of every major motion picture shot in New York, performing in local improve and sketch comedy shows, or trying to book a commercial, he has been known to say words on television shows like “Law and Order,” “As the World Turns” and “Third Watch.”
Kate comes from Austin, Texas. She has received her B.A. in Dance and Theatre and her B.A. in Spanish from Manhattanville College. With both degrees in hand, Kate began the glamorous life of a struggling actor, singer, dancer….etc. When not running to auditions or rehearsals, she cooks up delightful meals in her small, but functional kitchen. On occasion, Kate can even make you laugh.
Sarah Garza is thrilled to be rejoining E Phoenix Idealis for The Lion in Winter, after playing Mary Tilford in their production of The Children's Hour last year. Since then, she has also appeared as Meg Snider in Leading Ladies at The Heights Players in Brooklyn and with LoveCreek Productions in a night of one-acts. Catch her next in January at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre in Manhattan playing Melissa in the revival of Touch. Thanks Family and Friends!
Charlie has performed with Phoenix in “The Clearing” as Robert Preston, Alistair in “move Over, Mrs Markham,” Eugene in “The Author’s Voice” and Harlequin in “Triumph of Love.” Some of Charlie’s other credits include Roderick Usher in “Fall of the House Usher” (Chamber Theatre Rep., national tour). Petruchio in “The Taming of the Shrew” (Kings County Shakespeare/ True North), Ricky Roma in “Glengarry Glen Ross” (Stella Adler Theatre) and a member of the original New York cast of “Einsteins Dreams.”
Hugh is delighted to be returning to E Phoenix Idealis in The Lion in Winter. Previous roles at E Phoenix Idealis include Joe Cardin in The Children’s Hour, Mellersh in Enchanted April and Armstrong/Phil in An Experiment with an Air Pump. Other credits include: Antigone, Hamlet, The Threepenny Opera, Blithe Spirit, Romeo and Juliet, Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, Noises Off! and Village Wooing. Hugh obtained his BA in theatre from Florida Atlantic University. Many thanks to Ben, Bob and Annie.
Frank flies back to Phoenix after travelling abroad (to Long Island) for his past three performances. The audiences are quite large out east but not as astute and discerning as those who venture here to the Poppenhusen Institute. Those perceptive theatre-goers may recognize Frank from “The Rimers of Eldritch” or “Getting and Spending.” Frank has done Chekhov in the past but finds this much more fun. Thank you Neil Simon.
Michael is thrilled to be joining E Phoenix Idealis! NYC: Kaspar Hauser (Flea Theater), How Green Was My Valley (The Actor’s Studio); TOURS: Grease (2006/2007 Asian Tour); REGIONAL: Urinetown (Gateway Playhouse), Forever Plaid (Boothbay Opera House), Fiddler On The Roof, Grease, Gypsy; RECORDINGS: Stage Stars Records - The Wizard of Oz, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Sweeney Todd, The Little Mermaid, Godspell, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Kiss Me Kate, The Sound Of Music, Seussical.
